  • What is Dinner-Licious all about?
    • You've heard the wise expression, "It takes a village to raise a child"...because clearly, we moms and dads can't do it all for our kids by ourselves. Life's demands can be overwhelming on any given day and preparing dinner night after night is a perfect chore to delegate. Yes, we say it sometimes takes someone else to cook your dinner so you can concentrate on spending quality time with your children during those precious and short after-school hours before bedtime. When we were developing Dinner-licious 5 years ago, in 2011, with 150 Beta families located throughout the peninsula, we kept hearing that family dinner at home was a high priority. But cooking it wasn't so high on the list. We also learned that moms and dads didn't want restaurant food for dinner but food that tastes like it is made at home. Food you can eat every night without feeling like you shouldn't have eaten that. That is what Dinner-licious brings to the table and what separates us from other dinner services. Our focus is on carefully-prepared, organic, delicious, Mediterranean-inspired, home-cooked dishes (made in our commercial kitchen in Burlingame).
  • Can a Dinner-licious gift account be set up online for someone who needs help with dinner? 
    • Absolutely, we can set up a gift card account for anyone in whatever amount is needed. Electronic gift cards are offered on each day's menu in $25, $50, $75, and $100 increments. Purchase the amount desired and during checkout, write the recipient's name and email address in the "special instructions" section. Let us know when it is appropriate for us to contact them to tell them how to use their account.
  • What is your delivery area and charge for delivery?
    • We make deliveries to your home or office in the following cities Monday-Thursday unless otherwise noted:
    • Burlingame, Millbrae, Hillsborough, San Mateo, Belmont, Redwood Shores, San Carlos, plus Palo Alto/Menlo Park (on Monday nights only) & Los Altos (deliveries on Tuesdays & Thursdays Only). (Delivery hours are 4-7 p.m. with 5 different hourly windows to choose from.)
    • Redwood City coming soon! Email us to get on our Redwood City list (Jill@dinner-licious.com).
    • Delivery is always free (with a $15 minimum order).
    • We do not accept tips for our drivers. Just smile and thank them!
  • Do you offer daily service?
    • Currently we deliver Monday - Thursday and your dinner is cooked the same day it is delivered.
  • Do you offer a separate kids menu?
    • Yes.  We offer a wide variety of kids meals with different selections each day. Our kids' menu is primarily for ages 6-10. Some older kids can still be satisfied with the portion size of the age 6-10 dinner--but we encourage parents to order adult dinners or the "Hearty Family Dinner" for families with kids older than 11.
  • Are your dishes 100% organic?
    • We use about 95% organic ingredients to make your dinner.  Not everything is available organic as of yet, but the list is growing.  The seafood we use is either wild or responsibly raised and is always fresh, never frozen.
  • Do you ever cater corporate lunches?
    • Yes, we are closed for family dinner on Fridays to cater corporate lunches to many Bay Area companies. If you are interested in having your office team eat well with delicious, energy-inducing foods instead of heavy foods that encourage an afternoon nap, email Jill@dinner-licious.com to discuss your needs.
  • Do you offer vegetarian, gluten-free or dairy-free dishes?
    • Yes.  We offer a wide variety of these items and they are each identified within its description with a colored icon.
